RALEIGH – Jennifer Nunn of Goldsboro took a risk on a $3 Powerball ticket and won a $100,000 prize in Wednesday’s drawing.

Nunn got her fortunate Fast Pick ticket from Speedy Shop on North Spence Road in Goldsboro. She matched the numbers on four white balls and the red Powerball to win $50,000. The award multiplied to $100,000 when the 2X Strategic maneuver multiplier hit.

Nunn guaranteed her award Thursday at lottery central command and, after required government and state charge savings, brought back home $71,251.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing offers a $572 million big stake, or $308.9 million in real money. The chances of winning a Powerball big stake are 1 of every 292 million.

Powerball is one of four lottery games in North Carolina where players have the choice of purchasing their tickets at a brick and mortar store or with Online Play through the lottery’s site or with the NC Lottery Official Portable Application. Different games are Uber Millions, Fortunate Forever, and Carolina Money 5.
